Chosen by God: The Man Who Ate Honey, but Pulled Down Pillars

Temple of Apollo on Sunset

He doesn’t drink wine, he has a tendency to lie, he has a weakness for women and his hair is sort of a big deal. No, I’m not talking about Donald Trump.

I’m referring to Samson, God’s appointed judge over Israel.

The biblical book of Judges chronicles a 300-year period of the nation of Israel’s history. In this book, we are introduced to a man named Samson.

Then the woman gave birth to a son and named him Samson; and the child grew up and the Lord blessed him. ~ Judges 13:24

Samson was appointed to serve as judge over Israel at a time when the people were absent any consistent, strong or righteous political leadership. The story of Samson takes place before the reign of kings in Israel, and during a time when everyone “did what was right in his own eyes.”

Samson is an interesting character, to say the least. He’s not your traditional…

He is a Father to the Fatherless

Here is to all the single moms..

As a little girl I always dreamed of having my own family.
I wanted to make breakfast while the sun would creep in through the little lace curtains hanging in my kitchen windows, I wanted a floor to sweep and mop, my own oven to bake sweet treats and cook dinner; a yard to plant flowers, a front porch with two rocking chairs, pillows to fluff on couches and beds, a dog that would spend afternoons napping on the porch while my kids played outside and a loving husband who would come home from work excited to see his family and to talk and sip sweet tea on our front porch in our rockers while the sun went down after dinner was done and the kids were tucked in bed. I imagined I would fill him in on every detail he missed of the kids while he was gone all…

Quit telling me God has a plan.

Jordan Nations

A good friend sent me a text last week asking, “How did you make big life decisions like moving and getting an adult job?” I thought it was funny because in most ways I’m still making the big life decisions that come with graduating college. I’m living in the same Tallahassee home I’ve lived in all year and have yet to choose my next move.

I sent an essay response to her single sentence question loaded with my first thoughts on the topic. She thanked me and responded, “I swear if one more person tells me that God knows the plans he has for me… I’m going to punch them in the jugular. Good intentions. And I know ultimately I need to trust God. But that doesn’t help me actually make a decision.”

The jugular? Pretty extreme I suppose, but I think I agree.

Those of us approaching big transitions…

You ARE Called to Victory

When was the last time you heard grin and bear it, when going through the hardest time of your life? How did that make you feel?

There are many that have made their claim to fame through much pain and suffering and living by this motto, yet wander this earth never having peace of mind or finding fulfillment in life.

I have no lame cliches’ just proven promises from the Word of God that have pulled me out of the pit of despair and it isn’t s…k it up. Life’s challenges are overwhelming when we make them all about us. It is never about us.

For those called by God to live a victorious life, we are given strategy to overcome.

Here are I Peter’s bits of wisdom written while in prison. I would say he had some struggles going on,

I Peter 5:6-11 brings hope..

~ Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God and he will lift you up in due time
~ Cast all your burdens on Him because He cares..Does he really? You may ask..yes!!!
~ Be serious And alert.. be careful!!!!
~ Resist the devil and he will flee…a sure thing,.don’t cave in..we are given power to overcome!!!!!

Now how to walk in it?

By faith with little bits of consistency..imperfect progress keeping our eyes on Jesus is the focus..that is all

God has called us to glory on earth and He will personally….
*And support YOU

After you have suffered only a LITTLE.. praise Jesus just a little!!!!

The danger of trying to do anything on your own is tempting. To humble oneself when going through A trial and surrendering to God that He is the Great “I Am” brings much peace. He promises to never leave us or forsake us and to be our peace.

May you find Him in your struggle. He wants to make your plans succeed but He wants the credit: )His name is jealous.

Father, help your children trust YOU above all else, especially self. Forgive us and help us walk in this victorious faith today as we draw a line in the sand and choose to become a mature bride bearing much Fruit. Thank you for your grace amd mercy. Always.. Amen

Til we meet again..xoxox

5 Secrets to Guard Against Falling Behind

Ready..Set..Go..and we were off. WE had a lot of catching up to do during this walk last week.

These dear friends are movers and shakers. We had our sweat and brain storm. We did both as soon as the humidity hit our faces; we started solving the problems of the world.

After a while, I got lost in the new surroundings of nature and let them get about half mile ahead. I wanted to jog a little anyway. THEN I started my snapshots of beautiful flowers.

I began to feel behind. But was I? It was so peaceful with being alone those few minutes with the Master.. I didn’t want them waiting on me, frustrated or worrying but I was really enjoying my alone time.

I sensed him tell me THESE 5 things..

A moment of truth. .every one was happy doing what they Needed, including me.

Oh How He loves you and me and gives us the desires Of our hearts, he knows best.

Resting in Him

Til we meet again

Jonah gets a bad rap

As a child in a Christian school the story of Jonah intrigued me. Never remember hearing he baptized 120,000 in Ninevah after he obeyed. Woww!! Wouldn’t you love this as your legacy of faith, thousands saved and baptized?
If you are not familiar with this story take a few minutes and read it. Very amazing book.

Now over half a century old, the years of Jubilee, living life with the tough stuff it covers, I so love how Holy Spirit reveals His character of love and grace and mercy even in delayed obedience,
And the grace given for those who are called. We love because he first loved us.

First time obedience I preached to my children and I have tried to live that life and yet so much grace and mercy and God’S love is
Always so overwhelming when nothing else seems to be working and our performance fails.

May we not be found to remember someone’s transgressions when they have been forgiven and forgotten. Here are some good questions to test where your heart may of landed.

1. Do you remember the good or do you always remember what someone did to you years ago?
2. Is there any pain in a memory?
3. Do Do you forgive quickly?

Many of our child hood responses become our programmed responses
Whether healthy or not. We can reprogram our thinking as we meditate on God’S word.

Did you know what finally came of him, or did you just know he didn’t obey..(the negative) We can always learn from our mistakes and move on and not give up.
The blood of Jesus covers us and we are safe.

4. Do you remember someone’s past and let it taint your freedom with them and your trust?

5. Do you love unconditionally? If someone is truly showing you their efforts they have changed, can you totally let go and trust them again?
6. Does doubt and fear hold you back from being real with them?

This can be a challenge without Holy Spirit leading.
What does that look like for YOU?

Please share with me how You LOVE BIG and how your boundaries work for you.
You can help so many when you share your story.

Jesus does have amnesia when we ask for forgiveness and He will show us how to LOVE BIG as we hang out with Him more and more. Hallelujah!!!

Until we meet again.

#youarecalled to forgive yourself and others.. Jesus is your perfection and He is pleased with you!!!
